How We Operate

Acquire, Develop, Rent, Manage, Reinvest

All Four Walls focuses on purchasing low-mid priced larger residential properties near popular, high density locations. We purchase properties in all conditions and perform a full refurbishment on each prior to letting out to vetted tenants.

As most of our properties are near universities and city centres, we often refurbish them to HMO Licensed standards. We keep the relevant Council departments fully on board with the plans when applying for HMO Licences.

We use trusted local property management companies to oversee tenant relationships, advertise properties for let, approve tenants, receive rental payments, and manage property repairs. They also act as Project Managers for the refurbishment of new acquisitions, in addition to dealing with Licensing and other regulatory and safety requirements.

We have built up these relationships over many years. We regularly assess their procedures to ensure the right level of investment in our properties, as well as maintaining high standards of service to our tenants.

We are well-capitalised, have strong revenue-generating assets, and have a proven track record in landlord operations. We have significant growth targets and a low-risk business model with a low gearing ratio. We believe in the use of data to analyse our operation and adhere to our principles.

Our Story

All Four Walls was borne out of seeing a gap in the market for more affordable rental property close to popular locations. Refurbished to a high standard, layouts are adjusted to make best use of available space.

When our founder Laurie bought his first flat and wanted to continue saving, he rented out the bedrooms and had his bed in the cupboard under the stairs for years.

He often regales this unusual sleeping arrangement to highlight the focus of All Four Walls on frugality and maximising the use of space. After all, his mattress in the cupboard touched All Four Walls.

Meet The Team

Laurie MacKay

Laurie began his property journey over 18 years ago, purchasing, refurbishing and letting out rooms to students.
Over this period, while growing his rental portfolio, he successfully launched and sold businesses providing new technology dispense equipment to the hospitality sector.
With an interest in evolving trends in property including the sharing economy, Laurie is focused on sustainably growing All Four Walls to a substantial scale. 

James Bryson

Having started his career in property as a trainee at an estate agents and quickly rising to Senior Valuer, James brings a host of property expertise with a particular talent in negotiations.
A doting dad, James can often be seen cheering on at the side of his son's football matches on a Saturday morning whilst keeping one eye on the progress of current property refurbishments.

Scott

With decades of experience refurbishing properties large and small, managing residential and commercial buildings, and dealing respectfully with tenants and tradespeople, Scott's eye for detail and common sense approach continues to prove invaluable time and again. And his generosity with sweet treats knows no bounds!
